From Shu’aibu Ibrahim Gusau
The Zamfara State First Lady, Her Excellency Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has felicitated with the people of Zamfara State and Nigerians at home and abroad on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary and the 30th anniversary of the creation of Zamfara State.
She described the twin celebrations as important milestones that call for gratitude, reflection and renewed commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and united society.
Hajiya Huriyya urged Nigerians, particularly the people of Zamfara State, to continue playing their individual and collective roles in strengthening the nation.
She noted that the progress of any society depends on the contributions, sacrifices and shared responsibility of its citizens.
According to her, Nigeria’s journey since independence has been marked by challenges and resilience, adding that the anniversary provides an opportunity for citizens to renew their faith in the country and remain committed to its growth and development.
“Independence is not only a celebration of our past, but also a reminder of our responsibility to generations yet unborn.
“Every Nigerian has a role to play in building the country we desire, and every sacrifice made in the service of our nation will never be in vain,” she stated.
The First Lady congratulated the people of Zamfara State on 30 years of statehood, describing the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far and look forward with renewed hope.
She acknowledged what she described as meaningful progress recorded under the leadership of her husband, Governor Dauda Lawal, particularly in education, healthcare, infrastructure, human capital development and social welfare.
She noted that the administration’s reforms and interventions across these sectors had laid what she described as a strong foundation for sustainable development and improved citizens’ welfare.
However, Hajiya Huriyya stressed that the achievements recorded so far were only the beginning, expressing confidence that more initiatives would follow, particularly in economic empowerment and other areas that directly affect the lives of the people.
“What we are seeing today is only the beginning. There is still much more to be done. With sustained commitment, responsible governance and the continued support and prayers of our people, Zamfara will achieve even greater milestones in the years ahead,” she remarked.
The First Lady called for continued peace, unity and mutual understanding among the people of Zamfara, stressing that meaningful development could only thrive in an atmosphere of security and collective responsibility.
She prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to protect Nigeria, bless its people and guide its leaders with wisdom and sincerity, while granting Zamfara State lasting peace, security, prosperity and development.
Hajiya Huriyya concluded by wishing all Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and the people of Zamfara State a happy 30th anniversary, while offering prayers for a brighter, more peaceful and prosperous future for all.
