From Joseph Asegba, Yola

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has expressed deep sadness and shock over the tragic auto crash in the state that claimed the lives of four members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a military personnel.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

The governor described the incident as painful and heartbreaking, noting that the deceased were patriotic Nigerians who died while serving the nation.

According to Governor Fintiri, “On behalf of the Government and people of Adamawa State, I extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, the NYSC, and the Government and people of Kaduna State, from where some of the corps members hailed.

“These young men and women, alongside a gallant officer of our Armed Forces, paid the ultimate price while serving their fatherland.

“Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Adamawa grieves with you.”

The governor prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and asked God to grant their families, friends, the NYSC family, and the Government of Kaduna State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He also directed relevant government agencies to liaise with the NYSC and military authorities to provide all necessary support to the bereaved families.

“At this difficult moment, we stand with everyone affected. May the Almighty comfort the grieving and heal the wounded,” the governor added.
