The Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kano State, has received the Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano, Professor Amina Salihi Bayero, who paid him a courtesy and strategic engagement visit at his office in the Audu Bako Secretariat, today.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Najib Lawan Danbazau, the Attorney General expressed sincere appreciation for the vice-chancellor’s goodwill and her kind congratulations on his recent appointment, as well as his conferment with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

He also commended the university’s leadership for its sustained commitment to academic excellence and institutional development.

The vice-chancellor was accompanied by key members of the university’s management, including the Registrar, Dr Isyaku Adamu; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Dr Tijjani Rufai; the University Librarian, Dr Karimatu Maisango; a representative of the Governing Council; as well as other senior officials and representatives of SSANU and NASU.

Discussions during the engagement centred on strengthening collaboration between the Ministry of Justice and the university, particularly in the areas of capacity building and policy support.

The Attorney General reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing legal education and improving the administration of justice in Kano State.

The engagement aligns with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, which prioritises education, institutional synergy, and the rule of law as key drivers of sustainable development.

The ministry looks forward to building a productive and mutually beneficial partnership with the University for the advancement of Kano State.
