Ahead of the Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the final figures of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected by registered voters across the state.
In a statement issued by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, National Commissioner and Chairman of the Commission’s Information and Voter Education Committee, INEC said that out of the 2,339,233 registered voters in Osun State, a total of 1,906,390 PVCs, representing 81.50 per cent, have been collected.
According to him, the remaining 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent, have been safely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in line with the Commission’s established practice.
Haruna also disclosed that some voters whose PVCs were damaged, defaced or lost applied for replacement. He said 6,101 of those who applied had printed downloadable copies of their PVCs.
He further disclosed that a polling-unit-by-polling-unit (PU) table showing the figures of PVCs collected has been published on the Commission’s website.
The National Commissioner reassured political parties, civil society organisations, the media and the people of Osun State of the Commission’s readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
