Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has on Thursdays a generous donation of N2 million to each of the families of soldiers who lost their lives in the recent Boko Haram attack on the 27 Task Force Brigade in Buni Gari, totaling N30 million.

He also announced N1 million for each of the wounded soldiers, bringing the total amount to N58 million. Additionally, Governor Buni pledged educational support for the children of the fallen heroes.

The governor’s visit to the Brigade Headquarters was aimed at sympathizing with the military formation and showing support to the troops.

According to a statement by Mamman Muhammad, Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Buni condemned the resurgence of Boko Haram insurgency and the attack on the military base, calling the situation “unfortunate.”

In his address, Governor Buni said, “The gallant officers did not die in vain; they died defending their fatherland.”

As part of his efforts to boost morale, the Governor also announced a ₦50 million donation to the troops, along with food items, mattresses, blankets, and other essential supplies.

Governor Buni assured the troops and security agencies of the state’s continued support in the fight against insurgency, and directed reinforcement of security around the Brigade.

The Brigade Commander, General Usman Ahmed, expressed appreciation to Governor Buni for his exceptional show of care and support for the soldiers.
