The Commander of the Anti-Phone Snatching and Illicit Drug Elimination Unit in Kano State, Officer Nura Salisu Sharada, has called on residents to actively support efforts to eliminate the sale of illicit drugs, phone snatching, and other criminal activities across the state.

Speaking recently in Kano, Commander Sharada said community participation is essential to winning the fight against crime and ensuring lasting peace and security.

He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to improving security in Kano State, describing him as an action-oriented leader who has made the safety and welfare of the people a top priority.

According to Sharada, the governor’s administration has recorded significant achievements in combating phone snatching and thuggery, noting that reported cases have dropped considerably due to the government’s proactive measures.

He also praised the recent anti-drug committee established by the governor, which includes respected personalities such as retired General Magashi and other distinguished members, saying the initiative demonstrates the government’s determination to tackle drug abuse and related crimes.

Sharada further stated that the Anti-Phone Snatching and Illicit Drug Elimination Command receives support from the Governor’s Office, enabling it to carry out its responsibilities effectively.

He urged Kano residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information and supporting government efforts to rid the state of criminal activities.

The commander also appealed to the people of Kano to continue supporting Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration, expressing the hope that the governor would be given another term in office to consolidate on the security gains and developmental achievements recorded so far.
