The Head of the Physiotherapy Department at Sheikh Jidda General Hospital, Kuroda, Kano, Dr. Ibrahim Bashir Dantani, has commended Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for providing a conducive working environment and improving facilities at the hospital’s physiotherapy unit.

Dr. Dantani made the commendation during activities marking World Physiotherapy Day at the hospital on September 8.

He said the annual celebration, observed globally on September 8, provides an opportunity to recognise the important contributions of physiotherapists to healthcare and society.

According to him, the Kano State Government has made significant improvements to the physiotherapy unit at Sheikh Jidda General Hospital, Kuroda, by renovating and equipping it with modern physiotherapy equipment.

“Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has done commendable work in the physiotherapy unit of Sheikh Jidda General Hospital, Kuroda. The unit has been built and equipped with physiotherapy equipment, and virtually everything in the unit is new,” Dr. Dantani said.

He noted that the improved facilities would create a better working environment for physiotherapists and enhance the quality of care available to patients requiring physiotherapy services.

The physiotherapy expert expressed appreciation to the state government for recognising the importance of physiotherapy in healthcare delivery and investing in the development of the unit.

He also used the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day to highlight the role of physiotherapists in helping patients recover from injuries, manage physical conditions and improve their quality of life.

Dr. Dantani urged relevant authorities to sustain investment in physiotherapy services and ensure that healthcare facilities are adequately equipped to meet the needs of patients.
