The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, on Tuesday attended the funeral prayer of a former Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State, Hajiya Habiba Garba ‘Yandalla, who died after a prolonged illness at the age of 53.
The funeral prayer was held at Hotoro Tsamiyar Boka after the Asr prayer, while the deceased was later buried at the Tarauni Cemetery in Kano.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Naima Musa Umar.
The statement noted that Garo joined family members, political associates and other mourners to pay last respects to the late APC chieftain.
The deputy governor described the deceased as a committed grassroots mobiliser and respected women leader whose contributions to the party spanned several years.
According to him, the late Yandalla played a significant role in strengthening women’s participation and grassroots political mobilisation within the APC in Kano State.
“Her contributions were deeply rooted in mobilisation, party structure and unwavering political commitment,” the statement said.
It added that she was widely regarded within APC circles in Kano as a loyal and dedicated figure who invested years in sustaining grassroots political engagement.
Garo prayed for Allah to forgive her shortcomings, grant her eternal mercy and admit her into Aljannatul Firdaus.
The late Yandalla was said to have remained active in party affairs and women mobilisation until her illness.
