The Kano State Government has pledged to work with all residents and groups committed to promoting sustainable development and the progress of the state.

The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya made the commitment when he received former members of the youth group associated with former Kano State Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna who announced their decision to leave their former political camp and support the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Waiya said the group had the government’s permission to operate under the name “Matasan Abba Gida-Gida,” stressing that they would be recognised among the supporters mobilising backing for Governor Yusuf and his development agenda across the state.

The Commissioner assured the group that the government was ready to collaborate with them on programmes and initiatives aimed at advancing Kano’s development. He also confirmed that they would be given the opportunity to participate in the Tudun Muntshira (Safe Corridor) programme, alongside other relevant government initiatives.

Waiya urged them to channel their energy and organisational capacity towards programmes that would contribute positively to the peace, stability and socio-economic development of Kano State.
