Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, on Thursday attended the inaugural State House Press Corps Presidential Dinner held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
During the event, Governor Lawal had the honour of decorating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Grand Patron of the State House Press Corps.
The presidential dinner was organised to strengthen engagement between journalists and senior government officials, recognise excellence in presidential reporting, and provide an informal platform for interaction between members of the media and top government functionaries.
In his remarks, President Tinubu urged journalists to uphold professionalism, accuracy, and responsibility in their reportage, describing the media as a critical partner in nation-building and the sustenance of democratic governance.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting press freedom and freedom of expression, in line with the provisions of the Constitution.
The State House Press Corps is made up of journalists accredited to cover the President and activities at the Presidential Villa.
