Hajiya Binta Sallau Dandutse, a respected matriarch from Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State, has passed away at the age of 64.
She is survived by six children, grandchildren, and a large extended family.
Among her relatives is the Katsina State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Bashir Tanimu Gambo.
In a show of sympathy, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Dutsinma Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Hamza Abdullahi Sabon Garin Safana, led a delegation on a condolence visit to the family residence in Funtua.
The delegation was received by the commissioner and other members of the bereaved family.
Those in the entourage included Elder Umaru Tela and the Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Abdu Bawa Dutsinma.
Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Sabon Garin Safana described the late Hajiya Dandutse as a caring mother and mentor whose influence positively shaped many lives within and beyond her family.
He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
Prayers were also offered for strength, patience, and comfort for the family during this difficult time.
Responding on behalf of the family, the commissioner, Alhaji Bashir Tanimu Gambo, expressed appreciation for the visit and prayers, asking Allah to reward the delegation abundantly.
Meanwhile, a former Commissioner in the Katsina State Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Muntari Kado, was among dignitaries who paid condolence visits.
He also prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and her admission into eternal rest.
