The Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami, Gomo III, has renewed his call on religious leaders and worshippers across faiths to intensify prayers for Allah’s divine intervention in the persistent security challenges facing the country.
The Emir made the call on Friday at his palace during the weekly post-Jumu’ah special prayer session for peace, unity and development.
A statement issued by Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the Kebbi State Governor, said the Emir noted that the special prayers for peace had been a sustained practice in the Zuru Emirate since he assumed office.
According to him, the renewed call has become imperative in view of the demonstrated commitment of the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, to tackling insecurity and promoting sustainable development.
He noted that despite the deployment of resources and efforts by governments at all levels and other critical stakeholders, the security situation had persisted, making it necessary to complement physical efforts with a sincere return to Allah (SWT).
“Let us wholeheartedly return to Allah (SWT) through our various religious leaders and followers for Allah’s divine intervention, in addition to the efforts being made by our leaders, particularly our own Comrade Governor,” the Emir said.
The Emir further urged the people of the emirate and the state at large to continue supporting and praying for Governor Nasir Idris for the success of his administration’s service, which he said was anchored on peaceful coexistence and the socio-economic well-being of the citizenry.
The special prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of Zuru, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Tanko Liman; the Sarkin Mallaman Zuru, Alhaji Musa Balarabe; and other prominent Islamic scholars in the emirate.
