The Kano State delegation is participating in the ongoing 114th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.

This was containing in statement issued by the Director public enlightenment of the head of service Rukayya Uba Sulaimain where made available to Journalists.

The conference, organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO), brings together government officials, employers, and workers’ representatives from across the globe to discuss contemporary labour issues and strategies for improving the world of work.

The Kano State delegation is led by the Head of Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary Establishment Directorate, Alhaji Salisu Mustapha, and three representatives of labour unions in the state.

The conference provides a platform for member states to deliberate on critical issues affecting workers, including labour standards, decent work, social protection, social dialogue, workplace safety, and sustainable employment opportunities.

Speaking on the significance of the conference, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota stated that participation in the event offers Kano State the opportunity to learn from global best practices and explore innovative approaches to enhancing public service delivery, labour relations, and workforce development.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to promoting workers’ welfare, professionalism, and productive industrial relations across the state.

The conference is expected to strengthen collaboration among governments, employers, and workers while fostering policies that support inclusive economic growth and decent work for all.
