The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade .Murtala Sule Garo, has received an Award of Excellence from the Association of Qur’anic Memorizers in Nigeria in recognition of his support for the association and its members.
The award was presented on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by a former governorship aspirant in Kano State, Alhaji Inuwa Waya, alongside the leadership of the association.
The Triumph reports that the association honoured Garo for his contributions to the development and welfare of its members over the years.
Speaking after receiving the award, the deputy governor expressed appreciation to Inuwa Waya and the association for the recognition.
Garo described Waya as a long-standing ally and partner in the development of Kano State, noting that their relationship dates back to 2021.
“Our relationship dates back to 2021 when we began working together towards the political, economic, religious and social advancement of Kano State,” he said.
He thanked the association for the honour and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at promoting education, religious development and social progress in the state.
The statement added that the deputy governor also received members of the Campaign Council of Hon. Yusuf Aliyu Tumfafi on a separate courtesy visit.
According to the statement, discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening party unity, promoting cohesion among stakeholders and enhancing working relationships among party leaders.
The visitors also pledged their continued support for the administration and efforts aimed at ensuring the progress and stability of the party in Kano State.
