The Office of the Head of Service, Kano State, has held its 109th Weekly Joint Directorate Meeting as part of efforts to equip civil servants with the knowledge and coordination required to enhance service delivery and promote continuous improvement across the state civil service.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Public Enlightenment in the Office of the Head of Service, Rukayya Uba Sulaimain, and made available to journalists.

According to the statement, the meeting featured a presentation titled “Ethics in Islam in Accordance with Civil Service Rules,” delivered by Hashim Adam Husain, Director of Debt Management and Compliance, Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).

The presentation emphasised the importance of integrity, honesty, accountability, discipline and adherence to both Islamic ethical values and the Kano State Civil Service Rules in the discharge of official responsibilities.

In her remarks, the Kano State Head of Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, commended the presenter for his insightful and valuable contribution, noting that the lecture would further strengthen ethical conduct and professionalism among civil servants.

She urged participants to translate the knowledge gained into practical actions that would enhance productivity and improve public service delivery.

The meeting also featured a farewell tribute to the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Alhaji Salisu Mustapha, who has recently been posted to the Cabinet Office as Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services Department.

The Head of Service described him as a dedicated, committed and hardworking officer whose unwavering support and exemplary service had greatly contributed to the growth and development of the Office of the Head of Service.

She expressed appreciation for his loyalty, professionalism and outstanding contributions throughout his tenure, and wished him greater success in his new assignment.

Maimota expressed confidence that Alhaji Salisu Mustapha would continue to serve Kano State with the same dedication and excellence in his new position.

The Office of the Head of Service reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the Weekly Joint Directorate Meetings as a platform for knowledge sharing, policy coordination and capacity building within the state civil service.
