The Kano State Government has restated its unwavering commitment to protecting and strengthening traditional institutions as vital pillars of peace, culture, and unity in the state.

This assurance was given by the state Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, during a special prayer session held at the Emir’s Palace in honour of His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II.

The occasion marked the first anniversary of the Emir’s return to the revered throne of Kano.

Speaking at the event, which was attended by dignitaries, traditional leaders, Islamic scholars, and members of the public, Comrade Gwarzo emphasized the pivotal role traditional institutions continue to play in maintaining social cohesion and upholding cultural heritage.

“Our traditional institutions are pillars of wisdom, peace, and stability,” he said. “The administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf holds these institutions in the highest regard and remains fully committed to working in close partnership with them to promote the collective interest of the people of Kano State.”

The prayer session, led by prominent Islamic scholars, served as a moment of reflection and gratitude while renewing the call for continued peace and progress under the leadership of Emir Sanusi.

The deputy governor also lauded the Emir for his steadfast commitment to justice, exemplary leadership, and enduring dedication to the welfare of Kano’s citizens.
