The Kano State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tijjani Sani Auwal, has praised the author of the book Mazanjiya, describing it as a valuable historical work that preserves the legacy of prominent families and their contributions to society.
The commissioner made the remarks during the launch of the book, held at the City Campus Auditorium of Northwest University Kano.
He represented the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the event.
Speaking at the occasion, Sheikh Tijjani Sani Auwal disclosed that members of his own family are among those featured in the book.
He commended the author, Engineer Kabir Kwalli, for conducting thorough historical research and documenting the achievements of respected families that have contributed to the development and emancipation of society.
According to the commissioner, the author demonstrated fairness and objectivity by giving equal recognition to families regardless of their social or economic status.
He said the book reflects a commitment to truth and historical accuracy rather than bias or favoritism.
He noted that notable families, including the Nura Alkali family and the Baffa Yola family, are among those comprehensively featured in the publication.
Sheikh Tijjani further pledged to recommend to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf that Mazanjiya be considered for inclusion in the school curriculum to promote the teaching and preservation of Kano’s history and cultural heritage.
In his remarks, the author, Engineer Kabir Kwalli, expressed appreciation to all guests and dignitaries for attending the book launch.
He thanked them for their support and prayed for God’s protection and safe journey back home for everyone present.
