Speaking at the flag-off of the campaign, the Katsina State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Alhaji Nafi’u Mohammed Musa, stressed the urgent need for collective action to address the growing effects of climate change.
He said governments, communities, development partners and individuals all have critical roles to play in protecting the environment and safeguarding natural resources for future generations.
According to him, the ACReSAL Project remains committed to supporting the Katsina State Government’s efforts to build climate resilience through sustainable land management, landscape restoration, afforestation, erosion control, water resource management and other climate-smart interventions aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change.
Alhaji Nafi’u described public enlightenment campaigns such as “Raise Your Voice, Save the Planet” as vital platforms for inspiring behavioural change and encouraging communities to adopt environmentally friendly practices that preserve ecosystems and strengthen resilience against environmental challenges.
The campaign also urged residents to embrace sustainable lifestyles, protect natural resources and actively participate in environmental conservation efforts to ensure a greener, healthier and safer future.
The ACReSAL Project reiterated its commitment to collaborating with the Katsina State Government and other stakeholders to implement initiatives that promote environmental sustainability, improve livelihoods and strengthen communities’ resilience to the impacts of climate change across the state.
