The Kebbi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), under the leadership of its Chairman, Comrade Zaki Sarki, has commended Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for his initiative to expand the state’s economic opportunities through a high-level investment mission to China.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the NUT Chairman, Comrade Zaki Sarki, and the State Secretary, Comrade Gazali Maccido, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.

According to the statement, the Governor’s visit is aimed at attracting investment and fostering strategic partnerships that will drive sustainable development across Kebbi State.

The union noted that the visit demonstrates Governor Idris’ strong commitment to strengthening international collaboration and exploring opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, security technology, infrastructure, and industrial development for the benefit of the people of Kebbi State.

“The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Kebbi State Chapter, commends and appreciates Governor Nasir Idris for this proactive step,” the statement read.

The union expressed confidence that the engagement would open new avenues for economic growth, create employment opportunities, and further position Kebbi State on the path of sustainable development and prosperity.

The NUT also offered prayers for the Governor and members of his delegation, seeking divine guidance, protection, fruitful deliberations, and successful outcomes that would translate into peace, progress, and prosperity for the state.

Members of the delegation accompanying Governor Idris include: Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida – Secretary to the State Government; Hon. Garba Umar Dutsinmari – Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chairman of the Kebbi State Commissioners’ Forum, and Chairman of Koko/Besse Local Government; Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad Guruza – Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kebbi State.

The delegation is expected to engage with Chinese investors and institutions in pursuit of partnerships that will support Kebbi State’s economic transformation agenda.
