The New Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected Hon. Husaini Isah Mairiga as its new state chairman in Kano.
The election took place at a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
Hon. Mairiga, a seasoned politician, previously served as the Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kano State, was an advisor to former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau in the state.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Mairiga, thanked Allah for the position and pledged to work towards making the NDC a prominent party in the state and the nation at large.
He appealed to residents in the state, especially youth and women, to join the party, citing its commitment to transparency and accountability.
Hon. Mairiga announced plans to officially announce the party’s leadership in the state and register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.
