The Special Assistant on Livestock and Ranching in Cross River State, Alhaji Nasiru Baba Gombe, has applauded Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu for finding him worthy of appointment into the state government.

Alhaji Gombe, who hails from the Nasarawa-Bacoco Northern Settlement in Calabar Municipal Local Government Area, expressed his gratitude in a statement made available to journalists in Calabar.

He said, “I wish to sincerely appreciate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for the honour and confidence reposed in me through my appointment as Special Assistant on Livestock and Ranching.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and promise to discharge my duties with dedication, loyalty, and commitment towards the development of our state. Thank you, Your Excellency.”

He noted that throughout the 27 years of democratic governance in Cross River State, successive administrations have carried all communities along, including northerners residing in the state.

Alhaji Gombe, a businessman who was born and raised in Cross River State, was described as someone who has contributed positively to business growth and community development in the state.

Speaking in a telephone interview, the Hausa/Fulani Chief of Nasarawa Settlement and elder brother of the appointee, Alhaji Sani Baba Gombe, also expressed appreciation to Governor Otu for the appointment.

He said that, “I lack words to adequately thank His Excellency, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, for finding one of my subjects worthy of such a high-profile appointment.

“We are deeply grateful for this gesture. I also congratulate the governor on his three years in office and the remarkable achievements recorded under his administration.”

Alhaji Sani Gombe further assured the governor of the continued loyalty and support of the Hausa/Fulani community in Nasarawa Settlement.

“I assure Your Excellency that our people will remain loyal and committed to your administration. We will continue to support your developmental efforts and stand by you in future political engagements,” he added.
