Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has lauded Nigerian Public Relations practitioners for their adherence to professional ethics.
The Governor made the statement during the 2nd Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Week (NIPRW) event, currently holding at the Ceedapeg Hotel in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
A statement released on Tuesday by a Director Public Enlightenment, Government House Kano, Usman Gwadabe revealed that Governor Yusuf was represented at the occasion by his spokesperson and Director General, Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
According to the statement the representative announced Governor Yusuf donation of N5,000,000 million to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to support its activities nationwide.
He added that this donation is part of the state government’s initiative to support the development of the public relations profession, which was launched last year
The Governor noted that Kano State delegates were adequately sponsored to participate in the annual event, and they can attest to that.
The Governor’s representative expressed that Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf had initially intended to attend the occasion but was unable to do so due to prior commitments.
Governor Yusuf instructed the Director General to represent him and convey his best wishes for a successful conference and enjoyable moments for all participants.
This donation demonstrates Governor Yusuf’s commitment to supporting professional development and collaboration across states and industries especially networking opportunities for public relations professionals across the country.
