From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina

A philanthropist and frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) politician in Katsina State, Hon. Hamza Sule Faskari, has provided food and cash assistance worth over N120 million to orphans, widows, internally displaced persons (IDPs), youth groups, community development associations, and other less privileged residents across the 11 local government areas of the Funtua Zone.

The Ramadan gesture, held in Faskari town, included 400 bags of rice, 500 bags of millet, and 300 bags of maize valued at N60 million, as well as N62 million in cash distributed to beneficiaries to support a smooth fasting period.

Thousands of beneficiaries, well-wishers, politicians, and youth group members attended the event.

Hon. Hamza, who holds the traditional titles of Wamban Faskari and Sadaukin Kasar Hausa, said the initiative was aimed at providing relief and succour to vulnerable groups during the holy month of Ramadan.

“This gesture is part of my continuous commitment to the welfare of my people and a contribution toward the development of our communities,” he said.

The lawmaker, who also serves as the State Commissioner of Environment, urged residents to increase their devotion, acts of worship, and prayers for peace and prosperity in Katsina State.

He also called for prayers for leaders at all levels to succeed in advancing sustainable development.

In his remarks, the APC Deputy Chairman in Katsina State, Hon. Bala Abu Musawa, described Hamza Sule as one of the party’s most committed chieftains.

He noted that the philanthropist consistently supports party members, women, orphans, and the vulnerable, particularly during Ramadan.

Beneficiaries commended Hon. Hamza for his generosity and urged other politicians and business leaders to emulate his example.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Faskari Local Government, Alh. Surajo Aliyu Daudawa, announced that the council would pay electricity bills for residents for a full year to ease day-to-day expenditures.
