The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has led a high-powered delegation to witness the formal registration of former Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Giginyu Ward in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
A mammoth crowd that thronged the venue, jubilating and chanting party slogans, signaled what many described as a significant political boost for the APC in Kano State.
This development was disclosed in a press release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf described Malam Ibrahim Shekarau as a man of the people who has positively impacted the lives of many across the state.
He commended Shekarau’s political pedigree and the widespread respect he commands among people of diverse backgrounds in Kano State and the wider northern region.
Speaking shortly after receiving his APC membership card, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau emphasized the importance of unity within the party, assuring supporters of a collective commitment to securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
He pledged full support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s second term ambition, as well as the success of other APC candidates.
Meanwhile, former Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo was also among prominent political figures who officially joined the APC alongside Malam Ibrahim Shekarau.
Other dignitaries present at the event included the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibrin Ismail Falgore; APC Ex-Officio, Muhammad Jamu; Kano State APC Chairman, Hon. Haruna Umar Doguwa; and several party executives and stakeholders.
