The member representing Tarauni Local Government Area at the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Dahiru Sule, has distributed eight vehicles worth over ₦100m to the former chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in the area, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Inuwa, and other aides and associates.
The presentation ceremony, held at the premises of the Kano State House of Assembly, was attended by party supporters, stakeholders and well-wishers from across Tarauni Local Government Area.
Speaking after the event, Sule said the gesture was meant to appreciate individuals who stood by him and made sacrifices during the electioneering period, noting that their support contributed significantly to his electoral victory.
“These are people who worked tirelessly with me, believed in our vision, and stood firm during the campaign. It is only right that they also benefit from the dividends of democracy,” the lawmaker said.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Information Officer of Tarauni Local Government, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, said the lawmaker deliberately selected loyal aides and youths who worked closely with him to empower them and encourage sustained commitment to public service.
According to him, Sule said the empowerment was part of his broader effort to support youths and party loyalists, adding that more empowerment programmes would be rolled out in the near future.
“I want our young people to feel included and supported. This is not the end—by God’s grace, more empowerment initiatives will follow,” Sule was quoted as saying.
The lawmaker also commended Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad, for their support and cooperation, which he said had enabled him to record successes in his legislative duties.
In his remarks, Inuwa, a former NNPP chairman in Tarauni and one of the beneficiaries, thanked the lawmaker for the gesture, describing him as a committed and people-oriented representative.
“Since the inception of democratic representation in this constituency, we have never had a legislator who is so committed to the welfare of the people like Hon. Kabiru Dahiru Sule,” he said.
Inuwa assured the lawmaker of continued support ahead of future elections.
Also speaking, the chairman of Tarauni Local Government reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the lawmaker to ensure sustained delivery of humanitarian projects and improved welfare across the 10 wards of the council.
