The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, has donated the sum of N480,000 to 32 newly recruited fire service personnel from the area to support their graduation ceremony after completing their training.
The donation was announced during a courtesy visit by the recruits, who were employed under the administration of the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf. They visited the chairman to formally introduce themselves and thank him for his continuous support.
In a statement signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, Chairman Sekure expressed joy over the visit and praised Governor Yusuf for the recruitment initiative.
“This gesture by the state government is timely and commendable. It does not only provide employment for our teeming youth but also strengthens our capacity to respond to emergencies,” Sekure said.
He encouraged the new officers to approach their duties with a strong sense of responsibility, stating:
“I urge all of you to remain committed, honest, and diligent. Your role is critical in protecting lives and property, and I trust you will serve with integrity.”
Also speaking at the event, the Acting Director of Personnel Management of the council, Comrade Bello Hassan Durumin Zungura, lauded the chairman for his consistent efforts in promoting youth empowerment and development.
“The chairman has always placed a premium on the welfare and growth of our youths. This support will undoubtedly boost their morale and help them begin their careers on a confident note,” Durumin Zungura stated.
The recruits expressed appreciation for the financial support, assuring the chairman of their readiness to serve the state with dedication and discipline.
The donation marks another milestone in Tarauni Local Government’s commitment to supporting state-driven initiatives that improve security, create jobs, and enhance public service delivery.
