The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area in Kano State, Hon. Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, has approved the promotion of all village heads in the council from salary Grade Level 03 to 06.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by the council’s Information Officer, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, who noted that the decision was unanimously endorsed by the Local Government Council in recognition of the vital role traditional leaders play in grassroots governance and community development.

Speaking during the official presentation of the promotion letters at the council secretariat, the chairman said the elevation was part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to boost staff morale, particularly those directly involved in local engagement.

“This promotion is a testament to our administration’s resolve to acknowledge and respect the efforts of our local government staff, especially the village heads who serve as the first line of contact with the people,” Sekure stated.

He added that the council would continue to initiate people-focused policies aimed at enhancing the welfare of its workforce and residents across the local government.

Reacting on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Village Head of Hotoro, Alhaji Mustapha, and his Daurawa counterpart, Alhaji Salihi Garba, expressed appreciation to the council chairman for what they described as a timely and morale-boosting intervention.

They pledged their continued loyalty and commitment to the leadership of the council, promising to redouble their efforts in maintaining peace and facilitating development in their respective domains.

The promotion is expected to take immediate effect.
