From Joseph Asegba, Yola

Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has described the reported 10 million votes secured by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the recent exercise as “mere fabricated figures” that pose no threat to the ADC.

Atiku made the remarks shortly after casting his vote during the ADC presidential primaries held at Ajiya Ward in Jimeta, Yola.

Speaking with journalists immediately after voting, Atiku said the ADC remains confident and prepared to take over the leadership of the country despite the figures announced by the APC.

According to him, the reported 10 million votes are “mere numbers” that do not reflect the true political reality, insisting that the ADC is focused on building a strong platform capable of winning future elections.

Responding to questions on internal disagreements within the party, the ADC presidential candidate noted that crises are common in every political organisation and would not weaken the party.

He stated that the ADC remains united, determined, and fully prepared for victory at the polls.

Atiku therefore called on Nigerians to ensure that their votes count during elections by participating actively in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections
