The Acting Provost of the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT), Kano, Dr. Salisu Salisu, has described the 74 years of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “eventful,” citing his long-standing contributions to governance and national development.
Dr. Salisu made this known in Kano while speaking with journalists to mark the President’s 74th birthday celebration.
According to him, President Tinubu’s political journey and leadership record clearly demonstrate his experience and capacity.
He noted that the President served two terms as Governor of Lagos State, where he recorded significant achievements that laid the foundation for his emergence as Nigeria’s leader.
He further recalled that President Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election and was subsequently sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Acting Provost stated that within the first years of his administration, the President has taken notable steps, including the approval of a new salary structure for civil servants, aimed at improving workers’ welfare.
Dr. Salisu also described President Tinubu as a visionary leader with a clear mission for the country.
He highlighted recent assurances by the President that about 7.5 million workers covered under the compensation scheme would continue to receive adequate protection.
He added that the President, in his commitment to workers’ welfare, acknowledged that social security in West Africa often serves as a thin line between stability and despair.
He noted that the Federal Government remains committed to ensuring that Nigerian workers are protected from sudden economic hardship, workplace injuries, and are able to live dignified lives after retirement.
Quoting the President, Dr. Salisu said that since assuming office in 2023, the administration has pursued the Renewed Hope Agenda with the objective of restoring opportunities, protecting livelihoods, and rebuilding confidence in the nation’s economy.
He concluded by congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on behalf of the management and staff of the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology, Kano, as well as on his own behalf, wishing him continued success in leadership.
