A gubernatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State, Alhaji Kabiru Kama Kasa, has called for severe punishment against anyone found guilty of rigging election results, saying such offenders deserve the death penalty in accordance with the law.

Kabiru Kama Kasa made the statement on Thursday at the PDP State Headquarters along Zaria Road in Kano during the inauguration of party stakeholders, State Assembly members, and House of Representatives aspirants.

The event was attended by party leaders under the chairmanship of the Kano State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Ado Kibiya, and the leadership of Alhaji Tanimu Turaki.

Speaking at the gathering, Kama Kasa urged President  to consider enacting a law prescribing death by firing squad for anyone caught rigging election results during the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

The PDP gubernatorial aspirant stated that he had previously contested elections in 2007, 2011, and 2015 without success, but expressed confidence that this time he stands as a strong contender for the governorship seat in Kano State.

Kama Kasa also promised to address the challenges of water shortage and insecurity facing the state if elected governor.

In his remarks, the House of Representatives aspirant for Nasarawa Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Yusuf Gama, praised the leadership of the party and the state chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Ado Kibiya.

He pledged to work towards solving the major problems affecting the people of Nasarawa Local Government Area.

Speaking to journalists after the event, the PDP State Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Ado Kibiya, expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of the programme.

He prayed for the safe return of all party members to their respective destinations and urged eligible voters who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so ahead of the 2027 elections.

He also encouraged the electorate to vote for candidates they trust and have confidence in.
