In an unimaginable tragedy, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has lost his 24-year-old son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, just one day after the death of his mother.
Abdulwahab died on Thursday, December 26th, 2024, in a devastating motor accident along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road.
A statement from the Governor’s spokesman, Hamisu Gumel, confirmed the heartbreaking news, expressing the family’s profound grief and submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
The statement read in part, “With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family; his dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.”
The statement further revealed that Abdulwahab’s burial rites are being carried out in Kafin Hausa town, in keeping with Islamic traditions. “The burial rite is taking place at this moment in Kafin Hausa town,” it noted.
The young man, who was 24 years old at the time of his passing, leaves behind his grieving parents and many siblings. The governor, who is mourning the loss of both his mother and son within such a short time, has been met with an outpouring of condolences from citizens and leaders across the country.
