The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has raised concerns about a new terror group, Lakurawa, operating in Northwest Nigerian states, specifically Kebbi and Sokoto.

This group is accused of terrorizing communities, evicting security agents, and imposing its justice system.

Lakurawa members are reportedly foreign nationals speaking French and Arabic, recruiting locals with financial incentives or force.

Lakurawa’s rise coincides with increased military efforts to combat banditry, posing a significant threat.

The ACF emphasizes the need for urgent action to prevent Lakurawa from growing unchecked, like Boko Haram.
