Ahmadiyya Platform Basketball Team has emerged winners of the maiden edition of the Ahmad Musa Kida Foundation 3×3 basketball competition held at Rumfa College basketball court, Kano.

The one-day tournament was sponsored by the President of the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF), Alhaji Ahmad Musa Kida, as part of his commitment to developing basketball at the grassroots level across the country.

Ahmadiyya Platform defeated the highly rated Rumfa College team by 21–14 points to lift the trophy.

Speaking shortly after the final match, the competition coordinator and former basketball star, Sunusi Shuaibu Badway, expressed satisfaction with the turnout of spectators.

He also appreciated the NBBF President, Ahmad Musa Kida, for sponsoring the tournament in Kano, and called on other wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to contribute their quota to the overall development of the game in the state and the country at large.

Earlier, a Kano-based businessman and veteran basketball player, Alhaji Tijjani Paki, commended the NBBF President for supporting Kano State with such a competition.

He noted that organizing tournaments of this nature among youths in the state would motivate players to develop their skills ahead of future state, national, and international engagements.

Highlights of the event included the presentation of medals and trophies to the winners and runners-up, while the remaining six teams—Elevators, Bayero University Kano (BUK) team, Kabuga Warriors, Bukavu Blinks, Paki Warriors, and Sweet Coach Mother—went home with souvenirs.
