Akwa United F.C. defeated Calabar Rovers F.C. 1–0 in a Week 10 fixture of the Nigeria National League B2 Southern Conference at the Uyo Township Stadium.
The lone goal of the encounter was scored by Aniebiet Sunday in the dying minutes, handing the hosts a crucial victory in front of their home supporters.
The tightly contested match saw both sides create chances, but it was Akwa United who capitalised late in the game to secure all three points.
With the result, Akwa United moved to the top of the NNL B2 Southern Conference table with 22 points from 10 matches.
Calabar Rovers, on the other hand, dropped to eighth position on the log with 10 points from 10 games following the defeat.
