The Benue State Executive Council at the instance of Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has approved the suspension of Benue Chairman and secretary respectively of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for financial impropriety in the State.
Adressing Journalists shortly after the Exco meeting on Monday at Goverment House iMakurdi, Benue Capital, Commissioner for information and reorientation Chief Solomon Iorpev is slated to last for three Months effective Monday 21st September 2026.
He announced the affected officials included Alhaji Abubakar Adamu as chairman as well as Alhaji Ahmadu Alhassan the duo were suspended
The Commissioner further hinted several individuals petitions the Governor bordering alleged misuse of the Allocation Haji slots,Mismanagement of funds.
Also the secretary was accused irregularities in distribution of Palliatives, if after through investigation the suspects are found quity severe sanction would bestowed as punitive measures.
According to him the suspension would enable us get to the roots of the matter anyone held liable will face the wrath of the Law .
In his words the allegations contained in the petitions against the duo will be thoroughly investigated to ascertained the matter adding justice must be done on each it’s merit stressing where if it is discovered you,re innocent will be given clean bill of health it must reflect in the case.
Subsequently fresh appointment in Acting capacity as issued to Hon.Ahmed Tijani Adamu Esq as chairman and Saihu Babi as Acting Executive Secretary of the Board pending determination of the affected officials.
Henceforth the affected officials were directed to hand over all properties of the Board in their possession to the Acting officers with immediate effect
The suspended officials have been directed to hand over all properties of the office in their custody to the respective acting officers with immediate effect.
The current dispensation has reaffirmed its commitment for transparency, accountability and proper management of public Funds.
Maintained anyone involved in financial impropriety must be shun the way out pointing out no tolerance for appointees if you err should be booted out of service.
