The Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (AORHSPS), Kano State, is set to hold its fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, as the association marks its seventh year in office.
According to a statement issued by the association’s Publicity Secretary, Muhammad M. Danyaro, the meeting is in line with Article Six of the association’s constitution, which mandates an annual gathering for stock-taking, evaluation of progress, and deliberation on challenges affecting the organisation.
The AGM is scheduled to take place at Ten-to-Ten Restaurant, No. 2 Alu Avenue, Nassarawa GRA, Kano, and will be chaired by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the association, Alhaji Mohammed Garba Maisikeili.
As part of its contribution to societal development, the association will also sponsor a lecture focusing on the growing challenges of drug and substance abuse among youths, as well as the increasing cases of restiveness and violent crimes in Kano metropolis and other parts of the state.
The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Aminu Shehu Ibrahim, a Consultant Psychiatrist at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and Deputy Director, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Dawanau.
The Kano State Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Maimota, will serve as the Chief Host, while the Secretary to the State Government will be the Special Guest of Honour.
Chairman of AORHSPS, Alhaji Ishaq Mahmoud Umar, is expected to present the association’s annual report, highlighting its achievements, challenges, and the way forward.
The meeting, which begins at 10:00 a.m, will be attended exclusively by retired Heads of Civil Service and Permanent Secretaries.
