From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Abdulaziz Maituraka, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections.

Maituraka made the remark at a reception organised by various political associations to celebrate his recent appointment by Governor Dikko Radda as Senior Special Assistant on Mobilisation.

According to him, no candidate from any opposition party stands a chance against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as a leader with vision and resilience.

“APC is a formidable party with wide acceptance by Nigerians,” Maituraka said. “We have a strong presence in all 774 local government areas across the country.”

The APC stalwart dismissed the emergence of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a threat to the ruling party, describing it as a gathering of “frustrated politicians.”

He added, “ADC is not nationally recognised and will collapse after the 2027 election.”

Maituraka, who also serves as Special Assistant to the Deputy Senate President, urged Nigerians to be patient with President Tinubu’s administration and support the ongoing reforms.

He assured that the reforms were designed to tackle inherited challenges and would ultimately stabilise the economy and improve citizens’ welfare.

He commended Governor Dikko Radda for his developmental efforts in road construction, hospital renovation, water provision, and job creation. Maituraka also thanked the organisers of the event for their support, pledging not to disappoint them.

Earlier, the APC Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Mustapha Musa Kofar Bai, described Maituraka’s appointment as well deserved, commending his humanitarian contributions to youths, orphans, and less-privileged persons in the state.
