BUA Group’s 200,000 bpd refinery and petrochemical plant in Nigeria, aiming to reduce dependence on imported petroleum products.

In a recent article, Rabiu wrote: ‘Nigeria is pioneering a shift that other African countries can follow. Unlike past administrations, which often reacted to economic challenges with state intervention, President Bola Tinubu’s administration has shown conviction in reform. After two years of challenging reforms, Nigeria is now positioned to leverage its vast resources, growing population, and strategic location to drive progress.

Through the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa), the chairman has demonstrated his commitment to giving back to society. The initiative has provided an annual $100 million grant for sustainable development projects, constructed educational facilities, and supported female students through mentorship programs at Babcock University. Additionally, ASR Africa has invested in infrastructure development, including the Abdul Samad Rabiu Laboratory Complex at the University of Lagos and a state-of-the-art administrative block at Al-Qalam University, valued at N250 million.

BUA Foundation’s healthcare initiatives, led by Abdulsamad Rabiu, have been life-changing. From building a cutting-edge Pediatric Ward at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital to supplying medical equipment and ambulances, the foundation’s efforts have improved healthcare delivery. A notable N5 billion support for the Akwa Ibom State University Teaching Hospital, underscoring Rabiu’s commitment to advancing healthcare in Nigeria.

Notably, the company has donated essential infrastructure, including a school and hospital, to relocated communities in Sokoto State.
