The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has provided food and household items to victims of banditry in Danja and Bakori local government areas of Katsina State.
The items worth over N70 million were distributed to over 700 affected families.
Speaking at the occasion, Member House of Representatives for Bakori/Danja Constituency, Hon Balarabe Dabai, commended the agency for its assistance to the victims.
Dabai said the items were donated after he forwarded a passionate appeal to the agency to assist the victims.
He lamented the increased attacks on communities by bandits in his constituency, saying the situation forced hundreds of farmers to abandon their farmland.
Daba, who broke into tears at the killings and abduction of innocent people by bandits, called on the people to continue to pray for Allah” ‘s intervention.
ln his speech, NEMA North-west coordinator, Albani Imam warned beneficiaries not to sell the items provided to them.
Items provided include trucks loaded with rice, beans, maize, palm oil sanitary pads, wrappers, and chicken utensils, among others.
