The Executive Chairman of Bichi Local Government Area, Hon. Hamza Sule Mai Fata, has praised Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for implementing transformative policies and programmes aimed at improving education, healthcare, women empowerment and poverty reduction across the state.
Speaking at a public function in Bichi, Mai Fata described the recruitment of more than 8,000 teachers into the Kano State Civil Service as one of the landmark achievements of the Yusuf administration.
According to him, the recruitment will address the shortage of qualified teachers in public schools, enhance the quality of education and provide a brighter future for thousands of pupils across Kano State.
The council chairman also commended the governor’s economic empowerment initiatives targeted at vulnerable groups.
He highlighted the financial support provided to street hawkers and the disbursement of N50,000 business grants to women, noting that 100 women in each rural local government area and 200 women in each urban local government area are benefiting from the programme.
He said the initiative is enabling women to establish and expand small businesses, strengthen household incomes and promote economic self-reliance.
Mai Fata also lauded the Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Abubakar Bichi, for his contributions to the development of the constituency.
He particularly praised the lawmaker for facilitating the recruitment of healthcare personnel for health facilities across Bichi Local Government Area, describing the intervention as a significant step towards improving access to quality healthcare services.
The chairman added that the federal legislator has also attracted several other development projects that continue to improve the living standards of residents across the constituency.
Highlighting the achievements of his own administration, Mai Fata said the Bichi Local Government Council remains committed to complementing the development agenda of Governor Yusuf and Hon. Abubakar Abubakar Bichi through the execution of impactful grassroots projects.
He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to prioritising education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment and social welfare in order to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Mai Fata called on residents of Bichi to continue supporting Governor Yusuf and Hon. Abubakar Abubakar Bichi, saying their visionary leadership and people-centred policies have accelerated development across the local government and Kano State.
He expressed confidence that sustained collaboration among leaders at all levels of government would consolidate the gains already recorded and drive greater socio-economic development for the people.
