From Joseph Asegba, Yola

Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has formally announced her defection from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She made the declaration in Yola, stating that the move has become necessary, and described it as a significant shift in the political landscape of Adamawa State.

Her political journey has seen her move through different platforms, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) era to the ADC, and now to the NDC, a development that has further reshaped alignments within the state’s political space.

Binani’s defection has, however, raised questions, as the detailed reasons behind her decision have not been fully disclosed.

Political observers suggest the move could influence party dynamics ahead of future electoral contests.

The senator made history as the first female governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State and has remained a key figure in the state’s political landscape.

Her latest transition to the NDC is expected to generate reactions from party stakeholders and supporters across the region.

However, further details on her political direction within the NDC are still being anticipated, as more information may emerge regarding her plans and the broader implications for Adamawa State politics.
