Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has called on voters in Ghari, Tsanyawa, Bagwai and Shanono constituencies to consider the development strides recorded under the Kwankwasiyya-led New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) administration when casting their ballots in Saturday’s state House of Assembly re-run and bye-elections.

Speaking at a campaign rally on Thursday, Yusuf said his government had executed several projects in health, education and human development within two years.

“We have built classrooms, sponsored hundreds of youths to study at home and abroad, and empowered thousands of women with ₦50,000 monthly start-up capital,” the governor said in a statement by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

He urged voters to reject what he described as the failures of the immediate past administration.

“Now, they have returned to seek your votes. I am confident you will not elect these enemies of the state,” he added.

Yusuf disclosed that the state budget captured the construction of a major road linking Mashatsa–Gwarzo–Shanono–Tanyawa, the upgrade of Shanono Hospital to a General Hospital, and a water pipeline project from a nearby dam.

He urged voters to elect Dr. Ali Alasan Kiyawa for Bagwai/Shanono and Hon. Yusuf Ali Maigado for Ghari/Tanyawa to sustain people-oriented governance.

Other NNPP leaders, including Deputy Governor Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, also canvassed support for the party, urging voters to “rescue the constituencies from the wasteful APC years.”
