Tens of thousands of supporters on Saturday converged on Ikom Township Stadium, Cross River State, where a political movement known as The Prince Is Coming Again claimed that about 1.5 million supporters had endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu for a second term in the 2027 general elections.

Party leaders, National Assembly members, political appointees and stakeholders from the 18 local government areas of the state attended the rally to declare support for Tinubu and Otu.

The gathering featured chants, party songs and solidarity marches as supporters reaffirmed confidence in the leadership of both the President and the governor.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor and leader of the movement, Chief Emmanuel Ironbar, said the renewed mobilisation under the theme, The Prince Is Coming Again, reflected the group’s resilience despite previous political setbacks.

Ironbar urged supporters to embark on house-to-house campaigns and grassroots mobilisation ahead of future party primaries and the 2027 elections.

He also called on members to remain focused and embrace peaceful, issue-based politics while rejecting misinformation, slander and divisive rhetoric.

Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, who moved the motion for the endorsement, commended the organisers for spearheading the re-election drive.

He said both Tinubu and Otu had performed creditably, particularly in economic management and infrastructure renewal.

Williams pledged to mobilise support across his senatorial district to ensure victory for the party in 2027.

Also speaking, the Cross River State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Amb. Sunny Abang, said Nigeria was on a recovery path under President Tinubu’s administration.

He cited Governor Otu’s infrastructure projects across the 18 local government areas, improved aviation connectivity and efforts to recover state assets and reduce public debt as evidence of progress in the state.

The rally ended with a collective vote of confidence in Tinubu and Otu, as supporters pledged continued loyalty to the ruling party ahead of the next election cycle.
