The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Cross River State Chapter, has congratulated its State Chairperson, Rekpene Uket, on her appointment as the new Director of Information in the Cross River State Ministry of Information.
In a statement signed by the Vice Chairperson, Maureen Ajom, and the Secretary, Maria Ewa, and made available to journalists in Calabar, the association described the appointment as well-deserved.
“The entire Executive and members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Cross River State Chapter, heartily congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment as the new State Director of Information, Ministry of Information, Cross River State,” the statement read.
NAWOJ said Uket’s elevation is a testament to her diligence, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of journalism and public information in the state.
The association noted that, as the Cross River State Chairperson of NAWOJ, Uket has consistently mentored young female journalists, promoted ethical journalism, and amplified the voices of women in governance.
It expressed confidence that, in her new role, she would deploy her vast experience in media management, strategic communication, and public relations to effectively project the policies and achievements of the Cross River State Government.
NAWOJ further pledged its full support and collaboration, praying that God grants her wisdom, strength, and good health to succeed in her new office.
