The Cross River State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated its National President, Alhassan Yahya, on the occasion of his birthday, commending his exemplary leadership and immense contributions to the journalism profession in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by the State Chairman, Comrade Archibong Bassey, and made available to news correspondents in Calabar, the Council rejoiced with Yahya, describing him as a distinguished media professional whose commitment to the growth, unity, and integrity of the Union continues to inspire confidence among journalists nationwide.
Comrade Bassey noted that at a critical stage in Nigeria’s political process, the NUJ under Yahya’s leadership has remained focused on upholding the core values of truth, responsibility, and ethical journalism.
The statement added that Yahya’s contributions have not only strengthened the Union but have also reinforced the role of the media as a vital pillar of democracy.
The Council further applauded the National President’s steady and purposeful leadership, which it said has provided the direction needed for the profession to thrive amid evolving national challenges.
While celebrating his achievements, the Council prayed for good health, wisdom, and renewed strength for Yahya as he continues to lead the Union to greater heights.
