The District Head of Kumbotso in the Kano Emirate, Alhaji Abdullahi Lamido Sunusi, has turbaned seven distinguished individuals as members of the Kumbotso District Council.
Speaking during the ceremony, Alhaji Abdullahi Lamido Sunusi said the newly appointed title holders were carefully selected based on their contributions to community development and their commitment to the progress of Kumbotso District.
According to him, the honoured personalities have consistently supported the community in various ways and deserve to be part of the district council.
He expressed confidence that they would continue to work for the growth and unity of the district.
The Chairman of the Pensioners Association in Kano State, Comrade Shuaibu Musa Jibrin, commended the District Head and the Kano Emirate under the leadership of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, for recognizing deserving members of the community through the conferment of traditional titles.
One of the newly turbaned council members, Comrade Mukhtar, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Kumbotso District Council.
He described the occasion as a memorable milestone in his life and pledged to contribute positively to the development of the district.
Similarly, the newly appointed Sardaunan Barden Kano of Kumbotso District, thanked the District Head for the honour bestowed upon him and assured the traditional institution of his loyalty and support.
Also speaking, the Galadiman Kasa of Barden Kano, Kumbotso District, Mallam Haladu Lawan Kumbotso, expressed appreciation to the District Head for considering his late father’s legacy and appointing him to succeed his father in the traditional title.
He pledged his full cooperation and commitment to supporting the District Head in promoting peace, unity, and development across Kumbotso District.
The event attracted a large number of traditional rulers, community leaders, family members, well-wishers, and residents who gathered to witness the colourful turbaning ceremony.
