The Dangin Juna Africa Initiative (DJAI), a non-governmental organisation, has honoured the Senior Special Assistant to the Gombe State Governor on Security and Intergovernmental Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Musa Danbayo, with two Awards of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian service and contributions to community development.
The awards were presented at the closing ceremony of the DJAI National Retreat 0.2, held at the Yankari Game Reserve in Bauchi State.
Presenting the awards, DJAI National Chairman, Usman BK, commended Danbayo for his unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, describing him as a compassionate and dedicated leader whose selfless service has positively impacted countless lives through the AC4D and Gidan Alheri initiatives.
He said the awards were in recognition of Danbayo’s sustained support for humanitarian activities, youth empowerment, and community development.
Usman BK urged members of the organisation to emulate Danbayo’s example by remaining committed to selfless service and making meaningful contributions to the development of their communities and the nation.
In his acceptance speech, Danbayo expressed appreciation to the national leadership of DJAI, its members, and the Gombe State chapter, Gidan Alheri, for the honour.
“I am deeply honoured and sincerely grateful to receive these two Awards of Excellence at the successful conclusion of the DJAI National Retreat 0.2 in recognition of my commitment to humanitarian service through AC4D and Gidan Alheri,” he said.
He noted that the awards were not only a recognition of his efforts but also a reminder that true leadership is built on compassion, integrity, sacrifice, and selfless service to humanity.
Danbayo also commended the organisers and participants for the successful retreat, describing it as a platform that offered valuable lessons on purposeful leadership and community service.
According to him, one of the major lessons from the retreat was the importance of focusing energy on actions that uplift lives and transform communities instead of allowing fear and uncertainty to limit progress.
The governor’s aide reaffirmed his commitment to advancing humanitarian service, peace, unity, sustainable development, and community empowerment.
He pledged to continue working with volunteers, partners, and stakeholders to improve the lives of vulnerable and less-privileged people.
He dedicated the awards to volunteers, colleagues, and development partners who have remained steadfast in supporting humanitarian initiatives, stressing that lasting change begins with simple acts of kindness.
Danbayo also thanked the Dangin Juna Africa Initiative, AC4D, Gidan Alheri, and all stakeholders for their continued support and encouragement, pledging to remain committed to the principle of service above self.
