The race for the Kano Central Senatorial seat has intensified as Dr. Danyaro Ali Yakasai formally declared his intention to contest under the All Progressives Congress (APC), during a well-attended event held at the party’s state secretariat in Kano.

The declaration ceremony attracted a large crowd of party members, stakeholders, supporters, and elected officials, turning the venue into a major political gathering and signaling growing momentum for the aspirant.

Prominent party figures present at the event included Hon. Mudassir Zawaciki, member representing Kumbotso Local Government in the Kano State House of Assembly; Hon. Idris Dan Kawu, member representing Kumbotso Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; and Hon. Rufa’i Manager, APC Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area.

The leaders unanimously expressed their support for Dr. Yakasai, describing him as a credible, experienced, and people-focused leader capable of providing effective representation for Kano Central at the National Assembly.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Mudassir Zawaciki stressed the need for competent leadership that understands the needs of the people.

“Kano Central deserves a representative who is experienced, accessible, and committed to development. Dr. Danyaro Ali Yakasai has all the qualities needed to move our constituency forward,” he said.

Similarly, Hon. Idris Dan Kawu described the declaration as a step toward renewed hope for the district, noting that the aspiration is centered on service and development.

“We believe in his capacity, and we are fully prepared to support him throughout this journey,” he added.

On his part, Hon. Rufa’i Manager said grassroots members of the APC were firmly behind the aspirant, citing his long-standing relationship with the people.

“Dr. Yakasai has built trust over the years. His leadership qualities make him a strong choice for Kano Central,” he stated.

Chairman, Hon. Maje Ahmad Gwangwazo, assured that the party would uphold fairness and internal democracy in selecting its candidates.

Responding, Dr. Danyaro Ali Yakasai expressed gratitude for the endorsements and confidence shown by party leaders, pledging to run an inclusive and people-oriented campaign.

“I am offering myself to serve the people of Kano Central with honesty, dedication, and accountability. Together, we will build a stronger future and create opportunities for our communities,” he said.

Political observers note that the declaration has further heightened political activities in Kano Central ahead of the APC primaries, as consultations and alignments continue among stakeholders.
