E-World United Football Club of Calabar has emerged champions of the Calabar Centre in the just concluded Nationwide League One (NLO) playoffs.

E-World United defeated Mojoda FC, also of Calabar, 2-0 in the Match Day Five playoff encounter held at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

Jude Ayibe opened the scoring for E-World United in the 24th minute of the first half, while Uwem Akpan added the second goal in the 35th minute to seal the victory.

Speaking with sports journalists shortly after the match, the captain of E-World United, Patrick Kayang, attributed the team’s success to hard work, discipline, and fair play.

He expressed optimism that the team would overcome its Akwa Ibom State opponent in the next NLO fixture scheduled to take place later this month in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

In another NLO match played earlier at the same venue, Liberty Lions of Calabar defeated Diamond Stars of Calabar by a lone goal.

Meanwhile, E-World United finished top of the Nationwide League One playoff table at the Calabar Centre with eight points from four matches.

Prince Seven Football Club followed closely with seven points, while Mojoda FC placed third with six points.

Liberty Lions came fourth with four points, while Diamond Stars occupied the last position with three points.
