The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kebbi State Wing, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and commended the Kebbi State Government and the First Lady for the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.

The union also expressed appreciation to the First Lady of Kebbi State, Her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris, for her kind gesture of giving 100 Saudi Riyals as Sallah gifts to pilgrims.

In a statement jointly signed by the NUT Chairman, Comrade Zaki Sarki, and the Secretary, Comrade Gazali Hassan Maccido, the council appreciated the First Lady and other dignitaries for their humility, accessibility, and presence among the people during the festive season, describing it as a reflection of genuine concern and compassion.

According to the union, Eid-el-Kabir symbolizes sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, love, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

The NUT called on Muslim teachers and the general public to sustain the virtues of peace, unity, patience, and compassion which the season represents, while praying for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Kebbi State and Nigeria.

The union further commended the Kebbi State Government under the leadership of Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for the smooth conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.

It particularly applauded the timely airlift of Kebbi pilgrims, the well-coordinated arrangements on Arafat Day, the payment for all participants in the Sallah Day sacrifices, and the provision of 200 Saudi Riyals as Sallah gifts to pilgrims.

The NUT also recognized the diligence of the various sub-committees and the Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), headed by Alhaji Faruku Musa Yaro-Enabo, for ensuring a hitch-free pilgrimage and for donating 100 Saudi Riyals as Sallah gifts to intending pilgrims from Kebbi State.

The council further commended all Local Government Chairmen across the state for extending Sallah gifts ranging from 50 to 100 Saudi Riyals to their people.

The union equally appreciated the presence and support of key education stakeholders during the season, including the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Bande; the Director of Quality Assurance, Alhaji Abubakar Jabbo; Principals and Zonal Directors; as well as the Senior Director of SUBEB, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Tauraron Gwandu.

The NUT also acknowledged the leadership of organised labour in the state, especially the Chairman of the Organized Labour, Kebbi State, Comrade Murtala Usman, for his commitment to workers’ welfare.

The union urged workers and residents to celebrate responsibly, support one another, and extend care to the less privileged in the true spirit of Eid-el-Kabir.

The council further appreciated teachers in the state for their steadfast commitment to duty and charged them to continue upholding professionalism and dedication in the education of children.
